My dream boots (but they do run small)
First - they absolutely do run small. I wear a 42 (or a 10.5-11 US) usually but based on reviews I actually got the 44 since I saw it comes with inserts. I was worried they might still be too big but they actually fit perfectly with normal socks and no inserts. Use Rocs size chart and literally measure your foot if you aren't sure but again, I am glad I sized up.
Second - I have muscular calves and tall boots are either way too small for me, or the "wide calf" versions are way too big so finding boots has been a struggle. I emailed customer service to ask for the specific measurements of the size I wanted, as the shaft tends to get slightly bigger the higher your shoe size is (if they're well made). Roc responded the next day, very friendly, and confirmed fit. I was still worried but! They do just fit, with no skin showing through (the tongue is narrow). My calves are just under 17 inches (43cm). I expect them to also soften as I wear them
On that note - the leather is lightweight which I am glad about as I live in a warmer climate, not stiff or uncomfortable and I don't expect to need to "break them in". One last thing, I did have to buy longer laces as the ones that came with them were too short by three eyes (I expect because my calves are larger but still, something to be aware of). They seem to be sturdy, well made, and quite easy to walk in, I can see why they are a festival favorite. Hope this helps those with fit concerns but if you get the right size,…
